RICHMOND - Today, the Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal endorsed Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor.  The newspaper cited her strong fiscal management as Treasurer and Secretary of Finance, saying, "Sound administration under Governors Warner and Kaine, through boom times then the bust, have preserved the state's good bond rating and managed the budget."

 

The Gazette-Journal also indicated Wagner is better prepared to lead the Commonwealth out of the economic downturn, noting her work helping to earn Virginia multiple "best state for business" accolades. "Virginia has enjoyed top ranking as a state friendly to business. If we are to recover fully from this lingering recession, business must lead the way."
