RICHMOND - Three civics groups from around the Commonwealth have endorsed Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor.  The Danville Voters League, the Hanover Civics Association, and the Businesses Supporting Minority Candidates (BSMC), all cited Wagner's work to create opportunities for minorities throughout the Commonwealth.

"Jody has a history of working to provide opportunity for minorities. While she served as Treasurer and Secretary of Finance, Virginia vastly increased the number of state contracts to minority owned businesses. The Commonwealth needs leaders who will be inclusive and create opportunities for all Virginians; Jody Wagner is that type of leader," said Reverend Cecil Bridgeforth, President of the Danville Voters League.

Additionally, Wagner was recognized as being the best candidate to grow the economy due to her extensive economic plan, as well as her record of creating new jobs, balancing the budget, and cutting deficits while maintaining the state's AAA bond rating.

"As an integral part of Virginia winning multiple "best state for business" accolades, Jody Wagner has an impressive track record of working to improve Virginia's business climate for minorities.  As a business owner herself, she has a unique understanding of how to help small businesses succeed.  Jody's economic plan reflects this; she has put forth the best policies to get our economy back on track. We look forward to working with Jody as Lieutenant Governor as she continues to move Virginia forward," said Gwen Davis, BSMC Political Chair.
