FALL FORESTRY AND WILDLIFE BUS TOUR
In its 33rd year, the Fall Forestry and Wildlife Bus Tour has become a fall tradition for many of Virginia’s outdoor enthusiasts and forest landowners. Landowners and educators seeking to obtain research-based information while amidst the company of others with similar goals and interests have not been disappointed in the past. This year’s theme focuses on sustainability of our forest resources. Topics include, but are not limited to: American Chestnut restoration, water quality in our streams, value-added forestry on private woodland, and risks in forest health management to name a few. Participants will have an enjoyable time with a leisurely touring experience that will combine current forestry and wildlife research, all the while providing resources to help landowners in attaining their own land management objectives.
This first class event is directed by Virginia Cooperative Extension and this year Ferrum College has partnered with Virginia Tech to host the event in Franklin County on October 3. Additional agencies involved include the Blue Ridge Soil and Water Conservation District, Virginia Department of Forestry.

Tours will take place come rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for weather and with suitable footwear.
